Bailiwick Background

Good Sunday morning!  I did it again!  I opened my brand new order from Ellen’s and realized I accidentally ordered two of the new Poppystamps Bailiwick Background.  I’m sure Ellen would let me return it but I think it is lots more fun to share blog candy with you. Leave me a comment on my yesterday's post  by Thursday, Jan 16 at 5:00 pm to qualify for a random drawing.  Good luck!

Poppystamps Dies, Bailiwick Background

My project today is made using the Bailiwick Background paired with the Elizabeth Craft Designs Bunch of Flowers 1 and Curvy Leaves along with Memory Box Butterfly Delights and Flower Mound.

One of my favorite color combinations to use for spring projects is Spring Moss by Papertrey and Almost Amethyst by Stampin’ Up!  But with that said for some reason it is a hard color combination for me to photograph.  I’m sure it is the fault of the user Smile and not the camera or colors themselves.

I cut the background, attached tiny strips of mounting tape around the border and tiny pieces on several of the leaf flourishes and attached it to the card base.  I wanted the background to be popped up to add dimension and interest.

I cut the leaves and flowers, formed with my stylus and molding pad and assembled using glossy accents.  I attached the flower to the center of the card and attached several leaf sections around to create a natural arrangement.  I cut the flower mound, formed with my tiny tipped stylus and molding pad and attached all around the leaves and flourishes to add another element of color.  I added a few butterflies to bring another element of spring to the project.

I finished by attaching tiny white pearls to the center of the flower and to the butterflies.  I love the soft colors and spring feel of this card.  Too bad the photos don’t do it justice.

  4. Thank you for sharing this beautiful card with the Bailiwick background die, now I know I need the die and I would actually use it. It makes such a difference to see products actually used in projects to see the possibilities. The center flower is beautiful. Butterfly delights I have and it is one of my top favourites dies. I have looked on the Memory Box site for flower mound, I can’t find it, I think they have discontinued it. Being in Canada it will be difficult for me to get it, unless I can find something similar. Thank you for sharing this beautiful, inspiring card.

  12. Kittie,
You make the most gorgeous cards. I look forward to visiting your site to see what new idea you have come with. You are always so creative. Thanks for sharing all the details with us. Thanks for the opportunity to win this new die.
What color and brand of lavender card stock do use on the darker lavender cards you make. The one with the hanging lavender flowers and ornate frame. My fave color was lavender lace by SU. They no longer make that. I have been unable to find one I like as well. Thanks again.
