Bell Flowers and Blog Candy

Good Saturday morning.  I have a floral project to share with you today made using Dee’s Distinctively Bell Floral 2 set paired with the Floral Leaf Set 4 and Bell Floral Stem 1 and framed using the Sizzix Ornate Oval over the embossed layer made using the Corners and Lattice set.

KC Dee's Bell Floral 2 1 right

I started by cutting out the frame, bell flowers, stems and leaves. I embossed the white background layer and attached to the card base.  I attached the frame with mounting tape.  The bell flowers were cut using white cardstock and I colored them with violet 470.5 PanPastel and a mini applicator. I formed them lightly with my stylus and molding pad.  Although the leaves are already scored I scored lightly with the leaf tool on the leaf pad to add dimension.

I attached the bell flowers and leaves to the stems with Crafter’s Pick glue alternating to create a natural looking stem of flowers. I really love how soft and flowing the flowers look.  I attached the arrangement to the card base with mounting tape and finished with a multi loop bow. Here’s a closer look.

The flower colors is deeper than the frame and at first it troubled me a little but the more I look at it the better I like it.  These flowers just scream old-fashioned vintage to me.

I did it again!  I opened my brand new order from Ellen’s this morning and realized I accidentally ordered two of the new Poppystamps Bailiwick Background.  I’m sure Ellen would let me return it but I think it is lots more fun to share with you. Leave me a comment by Thursday, Jan 16 at 5:00 pm to qualify for a random drawing.  Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

The style, the elegance were just like Nana. Thank you for creating cards, that not only look beautiful, but invoke warm memories of past loved ones. God bless, Sandra

  140. I had to laugh when I heard you ordered two of the Bailiwick Background…I do this more than I am proud to say, so glad to hear I am not alone. The name, Bailiwick, intrigued me to see what it was, and check out your post. I love the violet color in these photos but somehow my cards never quite turn out to resemble yours. So I keep trying the diecuts and embossing folders and coloring and hope I get better at them lol
Thanks for the opportunity to win some blog candy – I see there are almost 300 comments!
    Good luck everyone!!

  151. I really liked this card but then I think I’ve liked every card you have posted! Did you bend the Bell Flowers to make them look 3D? If not, how did you do them? The die looks like everything is separate pieces but the flowers; is that correct? If so, how did you bend the flowers? Thanks for all you ideas and help.

  157. I have loved your cards since I joined your group. I have been saving them all in a folder and you have gotten me hooked on Impression Obsession and Memory Box Dies. I have so many of them now. And now you are using Dee’s dies. I haven’t seen these before but the bell flowers are just great. I will have to look into these. When are you going to start with Tattered Lace. I have a lot of those too. Anyway, I have gotten several duplicates of dies because I haven’t kept my inventory up to date, but I haven’t got the one you are going to give away. I would love to have it.
