Good Tuesday morning. My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple Challenge. The challenge was to go and find inspiration in Loll Thompson’s gallery full of wonderful clean and simple projects. I have said in many posts before that clean and simple is “not so simple”. Loll is one of the reigning queens of creating gorgeous clean backgrounds with wonderful focal subjects and making it look so easy. I was inspired by Lolls precious card below with it’s sweet tree and fence, the wonderful fall colors and the simple greeting.
I didn’t venture away from Loll’s card layout and theme and just changed the color combination to create a spring scene. I loved her use of Flower Soft for the fall leaves and decided to use the Heather mix of colors on mine. Here’s what I came up with.
I cut the Small Alder Tree using white cardstock and colored with brown and green Copic markers. I applied crafter’s pick glue to both the branches and grass cut and sprinkled with the flower soft.
I stamped the sentiment on the base layer and popped the layer on to the card base using mounting tape. I applied mounting tape to the back of the picket fence and attached it to the sentiment layer. I attached the grass to the fence with ATG adhesive and attached the tree in the scene with rolled glue dots. I love how crisp and clean the tree and flowers look against the all white background.
Thank you for coming by and I hope you have a great day.
What a lovely cards
hugs Linda
Oh so pretty….the flower soft does add that spring feel! Will have to give it a try for cherry blossoms – thanks for the reminder to do that – LOL!

Kittie, I love the simplicity of this card…. And I really like the ‘flowers’ on the tree… or leaves…. no folding or rolling….lol. I absolutely love this card… thank you for sharing your amazing creativity
Beautiful card Kittie.
Perfection! Absolute perfection Kittie! Both cards are over-the-top, but I especially love the first one. The flower soft leaves are stunning, both cards are just incredible!
Kittie, I love these C & S and the verse “under the tree.” Nicely done…
Really lovely.
Beautiful. I love tree cards. I love the sentiment a lot. I also keep forgetting about using my flower soft, so thank you for the reminder.
This is simply beautiful Kittie! Love the sentiment!
Kittie, your beautiful simple card is WoW!!! I also really struggle with beautiful simple cards, for me less is not more. This card is very inspiring, I love it. The tree stamp set is perfect for me, I will be ordering it. I am a tree hugger. This is a card I will be making in the future. It would also be a beautiful shadow box. I have a very small cupboard I am altering and I am planning on doing a scene in it inspired by your scenes, this card is a good starting point for my cupboard scene. Thank you for all the creative inspiration you share, and for uplifting me with the visual beauty you provide.

I can’t believe that propping the white layer on top of the card base gives it so much dimension. I can’t thank you enough for that tip. The card is fabulous and TFS.
