Welcome Baby

Good Sunday morning.  I don’t often have a need for many baby cards but on the occasion that I do I like to have a few fun stamps and dies to play with.  My project today was made using the new Impression Obsession Stork set and Sun and Moon set paired with the Grass Border, Small Grass Border and Tiny Flowers.

I thought it would be fun to create the sky, moon and stars and landscape with designer paper.  I have to admit that after I got the the grass and flowers attached to the card base I was a little disappointed because it really looked way to busy.  Also, I originally had only pink flowers because I wanted a girl themed card. After I had the whole card totally assembled I realized it was way too much pink so I added a few yellow and blue flowers to pull in the yellow from the moon and stars and blue from sky.  It added a little more busyness but it made up for it by diluting the pink.

I started by tearing three layers of ground and attached the grass border to the back of each using ATG adhesive.  I attached the flowers to the grass before attaching the layers together as it makes it lots easier to get them to stay on the thin little strips of grass. I attached the three layers of grass together with ATG adhesive and then attached it to the card base with mounting tape

I colored the stork’s beak and legs with a Copic marker and I attached a piece of pink cardstock in the heart opening of the baby bundle.  I attached the bundle inside the stork’s beak with glossy accents and then popped both pieces in the sky area with mounting tape. I attached the moon in the sky with mounting tape and then placed lots of stars in the sky attaching with tiny drops of glossy accents. I finished by adding Stickles Diamond for a touch of sparkle.

  1. Love all those tiny flowers. That stork is cuter cut out than I thought also. I also like to have a few dies that I might need for an occasion that I wouldnt ordinarily need all the time.

  2. I think a new mom would enjoy the time and thought that went into this card and a little girl would love to see a card like this in her baby book someday. My young son liked looking at his baby book, especially the cards that were sent to him. Nice thought.
