Bucket of Hollyhocks and Garden Pots

Good Sunday morning and Happy Easter.  My project today was made using the Impression Obsession Hollyhocks, Pail, Leaves and Stems, Tiny Flowers, Large Fence, and the Memory Box Garden Pots.  I was in the mood to create a garden scene and I love using the white picket fence as the backdrop.

I started by attaching the fence to the card base with mounting tape. I cut the grass layer using my deckle scissors because I didn’t want to detract from the flower pots with grass sprigs. I applied rusty spots on my pail using rust ink and mini applicator and added dark spots using a Pitt artist pen. I applied rust ink to all the flower pots to add depth. You can see my step by step photos of how I distressed the pail here

I cut the multi colored hollyhocks, applied ink to the petals with a mini applicator, colored the stems with an olive Copic marker and formed the with my stylus and molding pad.  I created the pail full of flowers by starting to add the smallest stems first and continued adding the larger and larger stems to fill in to create the arrangement.  I formed the tiny flowers with a tiny tipped stylus and forming the foliage with my stylus and molding pad.  I rounded the pots around my fingers and attached the flower stems. I tucked the flower pots in behind the grass layer and attached them to the fence with mounting tape.

Here’s a closer view of the little flowers and flower pots.  I think they are so cute.

I love making flower and garden cards.  I think the hollyhocks are so pretty and I love all the tiny flower pots.
