Good Saturday morning. I hope you don’t get tired of beach scenes over the next several days. I am having lots of fun with the new Impression Obsession summer release. There are just so many cute beach images. My project today was made using the new Woody With Surfboard, Palm Trees, Sailboats, Small Grass and Fence Border.
I started by sponging in the water and sky on both the card base and frame using an ink blending tool and hand cut cloud template. I applied a light layer of Liquid Applique to the water area, smoothed out with my finger to remove bubbles and heated. I applied mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached to the card base. I cut three sections of sand using my deckle scissors and lightly sponged with brown ink. I then attached the back layer directly to the frame with ATG adhesive and then attached the two front layers with mounting tape.
I cut the woody in yellow and then cut a woodgrain piece to fit in behind the the openings on the doors. I cut two surfboards and attached them to the roof of the car. I cut the wheels in black and punched 1/4” circles to create matching hubcaps. I cut the palm trees using the woodgrain paper for the trunks and lightly sponged them with brown ink and then attached the green palm tops. I cut the fence border using the woodgrain paper and sponged with brown. I turned the fence upside so the rounded fence posts would be the top of the fence. I cut the sections apart so I could fend and twist to create a sand dune fence. I cut a string of metallic gold twine to use as fence wire and colored it with a dark brown Copic marker. I attached the twine to the back of the fence posts with glossy accents.
I started assembling the scene by first attaching the fence with mounting tape behind the last sand section. I took a close up view so you could see the fence better.
I tucked the trees in behind the sand dune sections attaching with rolled glue dots and mounting tape, I popped the woody up in the scene with mounting tape. I added yellow stickles to the sun and attached it to the frame and card base with glossy accents and mounting tape. I added one lone sailboat out on the water to draw the eye out and finished by drawing in a few gulls with a pumice stone marker.
Thanks for stopping in today. I hope you are enjoying your Saturday. I sure am.
