Good Friday morning. I love making holiday projects with poinsettias, holly and pine. And I think adding glitter to create a sugared effect makes it all the more special. Today I used the Creative Expressions Filigree Poinsettia, Holly Sprays, Impression Obsession Pine Pair and Marianne Design Petra’s Large Oval.
I applied Crafter’s Pick glue to all the pieces (with my finger) and dipped them in crystal fine glitter to create the sugared effect. I want to take a minute to talk about the Martha Stewart crystal fine glitter. I have several different brands of nice glitter but none as fine and purely crystal clear as the one I used today. The Martha Stewart crystal coarse glitter is wonderful as well.
I had to move on to something else while I waited for the glue to dry so I attached the oval to the card base with mounting tape. I applied full 1/2” wide pieces in the upper left center to create a secure base for my floral design.
I started the floral spray by attaching the two large pieces of holly to the base with glossy accents. I followed by attaching the poinsettia with glossy accents. Once the flower was secure I tucked pine pieces and a couple of smaller holly pieces in around the flower to complete the spray. I finished by adding a large snow pearl in the flower center.
Here’s a closer view. I love the delicate cut of the filigree poinsettia. It’s so elegant.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
