Good Sunday morning. My project today was made using the new Impression Obsession Fireplace set. I have been anxious to play with the fireplace but knew it would a timely project so had to wait until I didn’t have lots of other crafting commitments. The thing I love about this set is that it not only comes with the fireplace but also the stockings, grate and flames. I paired the fireplace with the Cat set, Brick House, Pine Sprig Cluster and pinecones made using the Spiral Flowers set. The sentiment frame was made using the Palace Oval Frame set.
The first thing I did was cut out all the pieces for the fireplace setting. All the pieces were cut out using white cardstock. I cut two sets of stockings in red and white and then cut the toes and heels off of one set and placed on the other. I cut the brick background for the fireplace using the brick house die. The brick size on the house is a perfect match for the brick section of the fireplace. I colored the brick sections using a mini applicator and Fired Brick and Gathered Twigs distress ink. I colored the fire, logs and grate with Copic markers. I applied versa to the grate and embossed with black embossing powder. I added a little sparkle to the fire after coloring with yellow stickles. I colored the cats with a black marker.
I cut a white section to create the wainscoting, scored it in 1.4” sections and attached it to the card base. I added a piece of white crimped cardstock at the top of the wainscoting to create chair rail. I assembled the fireplace and attached together using 1/8” double stick tape . I attached the brick background to the fireplace with mounting tape and then applied ATG adhesive and attached to the card base. The grate full of logs and fire was attached to the brick background with mounting tape. I cut several small packages and attached tiny red bows.
The sentiment was stamped with versa and then embossed with gold embossing powder. I cut the frame out of gold foil paper and attached to the sentiment with rolled up 1/8” double stick tape. The sentiment was attached to the card base with ATG adhesive.
I created an pine bough for the fireplace and attached with glossy accents. I rolled a few of the tiny spiral flowers to create pinecones, applied brown ink and attached them in the pine. I added the bright red multi loop bow to add another element of red into the scene. I tucked the three cats in the scene with mounting tape for the finishing touch. I was originally going to add only one cat on top of the mantle but I couldn’t seem to stop myself from adding two more. LOL!
I am so happy you stopped by. I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Fabulous card! Using the brick house for the back of the fireplace is brilliant! Thanks for the inspiration.
Kittie, this is just darling….. and how many of those kitty’s are like yours….lol I love this card…it’s cold here and I could just sit in front of your fireplace… thank you for sharing your wonderful creativity
Beautiful card. I can feel the heat radiating from the fire and the smell of spruce … Especially captures the mood of Christmas.
Oh how I love this card and that fireplace. Such attention to detail. You always amaze me. Thank you.
Love your card and especially the addition of kitties. So festive.
How cozy and warm. Ive been waiting for you to use the fireplace and knew you would do it so well, and you did. Idea (Kittie whisper to Mitra at IO) we need a cute spindle Rocking Chair on scale to set by the fire, facing left and right. I would mention it but figured you would have more pull than I LOL.
Beautiful card, so Christmasy!!
Love your card! And, so much more convenient than having to measure and cut everything out … those dies make it so much easier … Thank you I-O! And, I really like your technique of cutting the toe & heels from the socks apart … TFS.
