Good Friday morning. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Did you have to put on your stretchy wasted jeans this morning? LOL! I don’t know about you but I am not going anywhere near the “black Friday” crowds today. My husband makes Christmas shopping easy for me. He sends me links to items he has on his “toy” wish list and I let my fingers do the walking instead of my feet.
My project today uses a white sledding silhouette image that allows the Nordic sweater pattern inspired designer paper to be as significant on the card front as the images. Although I live in Florida and would never have a need for such a heavy sweater I find myself fascinated by the gorgeous and intricate designs. Just for fun I Googled Nordic sweater pictures and thought I would share three of my favorite. They scream Christmas and holiday snow fun to me.
I think the child on the sled and big fancy snowflakes are the perfect accompaniment to the paper.
I added a little dimension by crimping the background layer for the image and popping it up with a mounting tape. I attached the sled with mounting tape for dimension. I attached the snowflakes with glossy accents.
I loved the Merry Christmas sentiment made using the Holiday Top Edgers die cut. I cut the edge of the sentiment very short and cut the two words apart to make it fit well in the design. I attached them using rolled up 1/8” double stick tape.
Thank you for coming by today and I hope the rest of your holiday weekend is restful and relaxing. Be sure and take some time for yourself at your crafting table and get your fingers inky and sticky with glue.
Card size: 5.50” x 4.25”
I love how you got your inspiration for this card Kittie…that is what we do isn’t it..and love this card….the boy on the sled is a fave of mine anyway….and this is perfect. Great idea of cutting the Merry Christmas edger. Keep the beauties coming my dear.
Like the Nordic print paper as a bkgrd for your snowy, sledding scene! 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration to NOT only think trees and snow as a sledding bkgrd. 😀
Amazing Kittie, when the feed came in, I didn’t see the sweaters, just the card, and I thought, WOW, that looks just like a Christmas sweater. Then I looked at your post and saw the pics of the pictures. You did an amazing job with this cards, it’s fabulous!
Wonderful card Kittie! Love the background paper!
Your card makes me feel so warm and happy. I love the bright white snowflakes and the little one on the sled over the nice warm sweater pattern. The crimped strip is a nice touch.
Thanks for sharing your lovely festive greeting! 🙂
Oh this is absolutely brilliant Kittie. I love your Nordic bg pattern.
Those wonderful twists you add to your cards always take them one step beyond. I love the sled die and it looks wonderful and even more so on the crimped piece of cardstock.
Personally Ive never joined the Black Friday crowds, not my cup of tea I dont care what sort of deal they offer (which I hear is never there anyway) but I
sure got swamped with emails with tons of sales from everywhere and not just one email two, three and four reminders, geesh.
j’adore! elle est superbe! biz
oh Kittie, this is just darling….. What a cute gift tag this would make…. I’m gonna have to try it, for sure!!!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful creativity & I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving….
Hi Kitty. I am sorry I have not posted on your blog lately. But rest assured, I have been looking at your beautiful, fantastic cards. Of coarse, I am in love with them all. I wish I had even a quarter of your talent.
I love this card and the blue one with the santa and sleigh. You are so creative. I just have a question. You show the DSP from Stampin Up, is that old DSP that they don’t carry anymore? I don’t see it in either catalog. Keep up the wonderful creativity.
