Snowy Branch, Bird and Berries

Good Monday morning.  I have another project to share with you today using the Wide Tree paired with a sweet bird from the Birds Set and Pine Sprig Cluster.  I just can’t seem to stop making nature themed holiday cards.

I started by cutting a couple of trees using the tan woodgrain embossed cardstock and apply vintage photo ink to add depth of color.  I punched out a few red circles and attached to the tree branches with glossy accents. I lightly painted  Crafter’s Pick glue on the branches with a brush and applied crystal fine glitter, let it dry a minute and then applied a few more touches of glue to a few key spots on the branches and sprinkled on ultra fine white flower soft.  I finished by applying red stickles to each berry to add more sparkle and to make the berries show up better.  I finished adding a few touches of green to the branches by attaching small sections of the pine sprig cluster pieces.

I applied a barn door to the full body of the bird using a mini applicator.  I then applied fired brick to the top of the head and around the wing and tail area.  I applied aged mahogany along the top of the back and head to add one more level of depth and finished by coloring the beak with a black copic marker

I cut think strips of mounting tape and applied to the larger trunk portion of the tree and added a few rolled pieces of 1/8” double stick tape to some of the thinner branches and then attached to the card base.  I applied a double layer of mounting tape to the back of the bird and attached.

I had a very hard time getting the sparkle and snow to show up well in my photos.  This is really so much prettier in person.
