Heart Framed Roses

Good Saturday morning.  Thanks for all of your wonderful comments on my Impression Obsession  design team blog hop projects this past week.  I sure do appreciate it. I hope you enjoyed seeing the new image release and all the gorgeous projects made by the team.

My project today is a clean and simple Valentine card made using the Impression Obsession Heart Frame, Spiral Flowers and Leaf Cluster.   I am so drawn to small pops of color against an all white background.  I really like how the white on white die cut frame adds dimension and interest but still allows the tiny rose arrangement be the star of the design.

I cut the Heart Frame out of a 5.25” x 4:00” piece of cardstock.  After the cut I placed the die cut frame back into the negative opening placing it face down and secured it in place by applying 1/4” double stick tape all around the outer edges. I applied mounting tape on the back of the frame layer and attached it to the card base.

I cut three little spiral flowers and formed them into three roses.  I attached a leaf cluster to the back of each rose with glossy accents and then arranged them together in the center of the frame opening and attached with glossy accents.  I love these tiny roses.  I think this is such a perfect Valentine.

  1. So pretty and striking.
I loved the hop this week….came at a good time when we were trapped indoors to stay out of the bitter cold weather. Bright ray of sunshine during an otherwise grim weather week.
Most of the styles were different from my comfort level, but I still got ideas for future card making. Great new products….I.O. has really good products. I have quite a few in my arsenal of tools. Thanks for the hop and fun.

  2. Very pretty Valentine card, love those little spiral roses and the heart frame looks so perfect with them. I have a lot of the IO background stamps but am inspired to pick up a few of the individual stamps seen on the hop. Great card ideas. Im more into dies and stamping still intimidates me a bit, but want to try to do more with stamps this year and combine them with dies.

  3. Good Morning,Kittie. Love your Valentine. Red and White is always good. I really like the idea of placing the cut piece back into the cut card stock. Gives it the feel of frame edge. Like they are all one piece. ……thanks for this weeks hop. lovely creations. ..have a good week-end, cold here, hope you can stay warm where you are.
