Impression Obsession “Summer Fun” Challenge

Good Thursday morning and welcome to the Impression Obsession Design Team “Summer Fun” challenge.  When I think of summer fun I think of ocean waves, sparkling water and bright sunshine.  I couldn’t resist creating a beach scene and I think I pulled out almost everything but the kitchen sink to put on this card. I couldn’t help myself.  This is definitely a case of “more is more”!  LOL!

This project was made using the Car and Camper set, Palm Trees, Sailboats, Mini Nautical Set, Sea Birds, Ocean Border and Sun and Moon

I cut the frame using the Nesting Card Templates and cut two layers of sand and three layers of ocean waves.  I applied liquid applique to the waves, lightly dabbed it around with my finger and heated.  Next I applied light touches of glossy accents and applied glitter. One layer of sand was attached to the front of the frame and the second along with the ocean waves were attached directly to the back of the frame with ATG adhesive.  I sponged a sky on the card base using an ink blending tool and blue ink and attached the frame over top using thin strips of mounting tape.

I assembled the car and palm trees attaching the pieces together with glossy accents. I painted on a little palm tree and sun scene on the tiny surfboard and tucked in in the back window.  Next I cut the sailboats in white and colored in the red base with a red marker.  The birds were cut in white and colored with a pumice stone marker. I applied glossy accents to the sun and covered it with glitter for another touch of summer sparkle.

I tucked the palm trees in behind the sand dunes and attached with glossy accents.  The sailboats were attached in between the waves with pieces of mounting tape. The birds and sun was attached with mounting tape.  The car was attached directly to the sand base with glue dots.  I tucked the lighthouse way back in the waves to draw the eye up from all the heavy pieces in the lower part of the card.  It’s really is a busy card but that was most shore lines look like in the busy summer months. The only thing missing is a fisherman with his rod and reel.
