Coffee Time

Good Thursday morning.  I had lots of fun playing with my Tea Set last week for the Impression Obsession design team challenge.  The card turned out so pretty and feminine with the use of crisp white elements and lovely coordinating designer paper.  I just received the new Authentique Classic Essentials paper and thought it would be fun to use some of it’s coordinating paper to create a project using the Coffee Set.  Since the coffee pot and mugs are not nearly as feminine a shape as the tea set I chose to use bold coordinating patterns.   Here’s what I came up with.

I cut one full coffee pot and the lid portion of the pot a second time.  I hand cut the lid portion, applied versa and embossed it with gold embossing powder.  I applied a strip of Post-It removable labeling tape over the body of the pot leaving the handle uncovered, applied versa and embossed it with gold embossing powder. The two spoons from the Tea Set were embossed with gold embossing powder.  The tiny napkins were made using the tiniest die from the Spellbinders Classic Squares.  I scored them down the middle for the crisp fold by placing them on my Scor-pal but used the leaf tool from Susan’s garden tool kit instead of the regular tool.  The leaf tool created a much thinner crisp score line for the tiny pieces.

I attached the frames from the Rectangle 6-in-1 Frames to the card base with thin strips of mounting tape to create a backdrop for the coffee pot and cups.  The pot and cups were attached to the base of the card with double strips of mounting tape.  The napkins and spoons were attached to the cups with glossy accents.  The scene didn’t look quite complete to me so I rolled three little roses using the smallest die from Spiral Flowers set and attached leaves from the Leaf Clusters set and attached them with glossy accents for the finishing touch.
