Clean and Simple Thinking of You

Good Saturday morning.  I have a clean and simple stamped tree scene to share with you today. The tree, leaves and sentiment are from the Impression Obsession Solid Tree set.  Impression Obsession  made these images in a red rubber set as well as a clear stamp set and they coordinate with the Tree die.  I will link all of them below.

Stamped the tree with brown ink and then used a damp brush to soften the ink lines.  I stamped the leaf cluster image multiple times until I was satisfied with the fullness.  I placed the tree layer right over top of the card base to mark where I would stamp a few additional leaves.  I wanted the images to overflow to the base.  I used a Color Box stylus and foam tip to apply blue ink all around the tree. I think the blue breaks up the stark white background and adds another element of interest.  I used a green marker to color in the ground area and then sketched in a few sprigs.

I applied mounting tape to the back of the tree layer and attached it in place on the card base.  I fully intended to keep this  a “die free”   project but couldn’t resist adding the three little butterflies and tiny flowers.

Check out my blog candy offer in yesterday’s post.  I am giving away several sets of dies from the Bell Floral Collection

Thanks for coming by today and I hope you enjoy your weekend.

  1. Love the tree card and all your little details. I wondered how you stamped the extra leaves to extend onto the card base, very interesting, I will have to give this technique a try.

  2. This is so pretty, Kittie! I love the panel and how you continued the tree design on the base as well. The little birds really do give the card a bit of pizzazz!

  3. Just imagine opening an envelope and finding THAT card inside! WOW to both the beautiful card and the lovely (hand written?) sentiment. Just like the other ladies I love the ‘spill over’ onto the base layer. Also the hint of background blue was a brilliant idea. Another winner Kittie.

  6. Kittie, I love this card but I’ll confess…. when I opened the email I had to look twice… I thought the entire card (other than the butterfly’s) was stamped…. My brain said… whatttttttttttttttttttttt???? no dies… lol. Really a wonderful card and it makes me think fall is just around the corner. Thank you for sharing your wonderful creativity

  7. Great card!!! I really love that sentiment! I know what you mean about making a card without dies, though. I don’t think I could do it and to be honest, I don’t really care to try. 🙂 🙂 I think I got into dies so early in my cardmaking hobby that I probably didn’t get deep enough into all the actual stamping techniques so it is easy for me to lean mostly toward dies. I love so many of the inky techniques, but dies make card making so quick and easy. I will admit that I have never tried the really, super detailed kind of cards you make with dies. I’m sure they take a lot of time to make because you use so many dies on one card and pay such attention to tiny details. But, I pretty much stick with more CAS die cut cards so they are usually fairly quick to make.
