Good Monday morning. I had lots of fun making pretty Valentine projects this past weekend and thought I would dedicate this whole week to Valentine’s Day and using my favorite color combination of red, white and green, lots of hearts and tiny rolled roses. Today’s project was made using the Impression Obsession Heart Frame, Spiral Flowers Large , Leaf Cluster and the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle Stackables.
I cut the red scalloped layer and attached it to the card base with ATG adhesive. I attached the white layer to the red with thin strips of mounting tape. I cut small thin strips of mounting tape, applied them to the back of the heart frame and attached it to the white layer.
I rolled the three spiral roses around my tweezers, removed them form the tip of my tweezers, secured them with glossy accents and rolled the petals back with my needle nose pliers. I formed the leaves with my stylus and molding pad and attached them to the back of the roses with glossy accents. I attached the three roses to the card base with glossy accents and then filled in around them with a few additional leaf sections. I really love how the red roses and frame contrast against the white background.
Check out my Rolled Rose tutorial on the Splitcoaststampers Tutorials page if you would like to see step by step photos and also a video of my process for creating a lifelike paper rose.
I am so happy you came by and I hope you have a wonderful week.
Card size: 5.50” x 4.25”
Love your flowers…your tutorial was very helpful…having arthritis makes it hard sometimes to make a nice flower, so I sometimes use a doll clothespin holder for that xtra help.
Love the heart die and, like you, I love red. Great card as always.
This is lovely! That heart die is so fun.
I agree what a splash with the red and white contrast…nice heart die…can see it used for weddings in gold and silver as well….but what I loved it I clicked on one of your cards below and it took me down memory lane with so many of your beautiful creations…I know it takes a lot of time for you to share so much in detail how you make your card and list all the ingredients….so on behalf of all of your readers…we thank you so much for being here first thing in the morning with our coffee. The perfect way to start our day…
Beautiful card!!!Love the colors,awesome design!!!
Fun framing with the scallops too!
This is a PERFECT START to Valentines, Kittie! 😉 I am still collecting things….of course, I mean to do more than one & make them all different if I can too! LOOOOOVE the little flowers & the framing!!! PERFECT!!!! 😉
P.S. I agree with Vicki! THANK YOU KITTIE for all the time it takes in preparing your posts & listing all your supplies! You don’t know HOW MANY TIMES I check that list! One question: How do you feel about the ATG you use? I have a Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro & HATE IT! It just doesn’t hold! 🙁 It sits in the drawer. Not to mention it is BIG & BULKY!
Good afternoon, Kittie, hearts being my favorite thing, This is a beautiful card to me. I love the hearts and your design. Feb is a big month here, hubby birthday, grandson birthday, daughters anniversary, so they keep me busy creating. Thanks for inspiration. needed …..hugs.
Becky, I love my ATG gun and wouldn’t part with it. Yes it is large but that doesn’t bother me. The adhesive is wonderful and I have never had a problem with it holding. And that is really saying a lot because I live in Florida and we have very high humidity which can really do a number on adhesives.
Gorgeous Valentine card!!!! Pinned for future “love” reference and the fabulous IO dies!
Very pretty…. Love the red & white combination… perfect for Valentine’s day… and surprise, a new die I need….lol. Thank you for sharing your wonderful creativity….
