Clean and Simple Hydrangea

Good Thursday morning.  I hope you enjoyed seeing all of the wonderful stamp and die sets in Julie’s new Essentials By Ellen release.  I loved the coordinating Mondo Hydrangea stamp and die and played around with it a bit when I was working on my projects for the release blog hop.  I had stamped several different versions of the flower and leaves before finishing my final version for my post on Tuesday.  I thought the cream flower and leaves looked so pretty against the dark blue background.

I stamped the flower and leaves on watercolor paper using chipped sapphire ink,  embossed with clear embossing powder and cut them out using the coordinating dies.  I cut the frame using the Nesting Card Templates, applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back and attached to the blue and cream card base.  The flower was set in place and attached to the card base using mounting tape.  The leaves were lightly rolled in my fingers to form and were tucked in under the hydrangea and attached with glossy accents. I finished by adding the simple dark blue bow.  The vanilla cardstock and natural white watercolor paper match almost perfectly but in my photos the flower and leaves looks much whiter than the frame and card base.
