Impression Obsession Spring 2016 Die Blog Hop

Good Thursday morning and welcome to day one of the Impression Obsession Spring Die Blog Hop!  Our team has some beautiful projects to share and prizes to give away! The hop is for two days (3/24/16 – 3/25/16) and you can check out all the details on the Impression Obsession Blog.  Make sure you visit and comment on all the team posts for a chance to win.

My project today was made using the new Barn and Duck Set paired with the Tree Frame, All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2, Leafy Branch, Grass Border, Small Grass Border, Tiny Flowers and Clouds.

I began by cutting the Tree Frame using Kraft cardstock and coloring it with a light walnut Copic marker. I cut a couple sections of the Leafy Branch, cut the branches apart into small sections and attached them to the limbs of the tree with glossy accents.  I was going to leave the tree plain with just the green leaves but couldn’t resist adding the Tiny flowers that I formed using my Susan’s Garden Tool Kit.  I cut the All-in One Rectangle Frame and applied double stick tape all the way around the back of the frame. I attached one Small Grass Border to the back of the frame , trimmed a small portion off the bottom of the Tree Frame and then attached it to the back of the frame.  I lightly sponged blue ink for the sky on the white card layer.  I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it to the blue sky base. I wanted to add one more element of dimension to the project so I applied another layer of mounting tape to the back of the whole framed section and attached it to the red card base.

I cut the Barn twice, once in red and once in black.  I attached the barn trim, windows and doors to the red barn base with Cosmic glue.  I cut the silo and sponged it all over with rust hinge ink using a mini applicator.  The ducks were cut using yellow cardstock and sponged lightly with wild honey ink using a mini applicator.  I tucked the barn in behind the tree branches with mounting tape.  The silo was cut off on one side so it could be tucked in behind the frame. I cut a grass border in to small sections and attached them on both sides of the barn to another element of “country” to the scene.  I attached one cloud section in the sky with mounting tape.  The ducks were attached to the frame and in behind the grass for the finishing touch.

  3. I don’t mean to sound like a cliche’, but your cards are barely “cards!” They are works of ART, Kitty! Ever since I first saw your work, about a year ago, I have been astounded over and over again! This new card is wonderful. I am going to check out the other gals and comment on the blog hop. Hard to believe how talented people are!
