Good Friday Afternoon. I took the day off from work celebrate my birthday and am having fun playing in my craft room. My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Free For All Challenge to create a card with a beach theme and a little extra credit if we used red, white and blue. I usually like to create my beach cards with sponged sand and water but today I went with all die cuts. I used lots of different Impression Obsession sets so instead of listing them all I’ll just link them for you below.
I sponged in a fairly light blue on the background with an ink blending tool and Tumbled Glass ink. I attached the sunburst to the scene base with ATG adhesive and then attached them both to the red card base. I attached the sand layer and two water layers to the back of the frame with ATG adhesive. Then I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it to the scene. I attached the big sun to the sunburst with mounting tape.
I drew red stripes on a piece of white cardstock with a Candied Apple marker, cut it out to use as a towel and attached it over the arm of the chair with glue dots. I actually cut fringe on the end of the towel but it doesn’t show up in the photos. I attached the sailboats in behind the wave layers with mounting tape. I cut a portion of the back legs of the chair off and tucked in behind the frame and attached it in place with a piece of mounting tape right behind the towel. I couldn’t resist adding some flip lops, one section of a sandcastle and a beach bucket to finish the scene.
I hope all of you enjoy the July 4th holiday. Thanks for coming by.
