Sparkly Shell Beach Scene

Good Sunday morning.  My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Inspiration Challenge.  The inspiration site for the challenge was the Bowls Pinterest site. There was lots to be inspired by with all the gorgeous pottery and wonderful patterns and colors but I finally settled on a Bowl of Shells. I loved the creamy color of the bowl and shells and decided to create a monochromatic beach scene with sparkly shells and sparkly water in the background.

All the die cut pieces were cut using creamy colored cardstock.  I used a mini applicator to apply Antique Linen ink to all the pieces.  I hand cut two layers of sand using my deckle scissors and allied the ink using my ink blending tool. I attached the two sand layers to the back of the frame and then applied thin strips of mounting tape to use to attach it to the card base. I cut a piece of cardstock sized to fit behind the frame, masked a straight line across the center to create the water.  I sponged on the ink with the ink blending tool and then removed the masked and sponged in the sky area.  I applied a fine layer of Cosmic Glitter Glue to the shells and water line and sprinkled with Cool Diamond glitter..

I attached the background scene to the card base with ATG adhesive and then attached the frame over top of it. I sort of smooshed the fence sections a little to make them look old and then tucked them and the grass sections in between the sand layers and attached with glossy accents. I attached all the shells to the frame with small pieces of mounting tape and finished the scene with one lone seagull in the sky.

Here’s a closer view of the scene.  I think the shells and water line looks so pretty with the added sparkle.
