My project today was made for Lori Craig aka stamp_momma’s challenge. I can’t tell you what the challenge theme is. You can find that out by becoming a fan club member. The frame was made using the My Favorite Things Pierced Rectangle Frames and the scene was made using the Art Impressions Watercolor Tree Set, Impression Obsession Small Bird Set and WPlus9 Coming Up Roses. I have always loved making outdoor scenes, especially scenes with trees. I guess growing up in West Virginia where our home was surrounded by beautiful fields and a forest of trees developed my love for the outdoors.
I started the scene by sponging in the water using Tumbled Glass ink using an ink blending tool. I applied the base coat for the grass using a Shabby Shutters ink and mini applicator.
I applied Vintage Photo ink to the tree stamp and lightly dabbed a baby wipe across the branches to remove some of the ink so that when I stamped the image the branches would be very faint and easy to cover with the leaves. I stamped the three three times and used my waterbrush with a touch of reinker to fill in the trunk and lower limbs. I filled in the tree tops with Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint inks using the small leaf image from Coming Up Roses. I filled in the ground area using the same stamp and the darker green ink. I added touches of blue flowers around the ground area using the leaf stamp and Broken China ink. I used a mini applicator to apply light touches of brown around the base of each tree and along the water’s edge. I heat set the ink on the scene and then lightly sponged in the light blue sky with the ink blending tool. I added the two little birds for the finishing touch.
Thanks for coming by today and I hope you have a great weekend.
