Under The Branches of a Tree

Good Monday morning.  I haven’t made a card using the Impression Obsession Tree Frame in quite a while.  It is my all time favorite tree die and it is so versatile and perfect to use for all seasons.  I paired it with the Impression Obsession Foliage, All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2, Small Grass Border and tiny flowers made using the Fiskars 1/4” Flower Punch.

I used Kraft cardstock to cut the tree.  I have found a quick and easy way to apply ink to a large image like the tree is to mist lightly with water and then drag the ink pad directly over the damp cardstock.  The dampness makes the ink slide on so easily and takes just a few seconds.  When finished I dry with my heat gun.  I applied double stick tape to the back of the frame, attached the grass border and the tree frame.  I cut two sets of Foliage and cut the leaves off the stems and attached them to the branches of the tree with glossy accents. I formed the tiny punched flowers with my stylus and molding pad and then attached them to the leaves with glossy accents.

I stamped the sentiment on the card base using Black Versafine ink.  I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it to the card base.  I tucked a few pieces of foliage and flowers in behind the grass at the base of the tree trunk and one loan little stem on the other side for the finishing touch.

The sentiment is from the Branches of a Tree clear stamp set.  The set must have been retired as I wasn’t able to find it to link for you.  Sorry.

Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great week.
