I have another beach scene project to share with you today using the Impression Obsession Sea Birds, Shore Birds and Tall Grass. I made this scene on a single layer card base and attached two layers of sandy beach to add dimension.
I started by applying a mask to the sky area and applied Tumbled Glass ink with an ink blending tool to create the water line. I removed the mask and used my retired Stampin’ Up! cloud template and ink blending tool to add a few clouds in the sky area. I cut a strip of white cardstock, misted it lightly with water using a mini mister and then swiped my Antique Linen ink pad directly on the cardstock to apply the ink. I heat set the ink on the cardstock with my heat gun and then cut the strip of cardstock in half using my deckle scissors to create the two sandy beach sections. I heat set the ink and then applied Cosmic Glitter Glue and Cool Diamond glitter to both sand sections. I used a palette knife to apply white Embossing Paste to the water to create the appearance of sea foam. I applied the markings on the birds using a mini applicator and Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke ink.
The back sand layer was attached directly to the card base with ATG adhesive. The front layer was attached with a strip of mounting tape. The grass sections were cut apart to shorten the pieces and were attached in behind the front sand layer using glossy accents. All the birds were attached in the scene with small pieces of mounting tape. This was a fast and easy project to put together and so much fun. It is amazing to me how sponging on color and popping up a few images can transform a plain piece of cardstock into a lovely scene.
Thanks for coming by today and I hope you have a great week.

Another beautiful seascape….I think this and flowers is your signature. I am waiting for the birds to fly over to me
Absolutely beautiful! Love your scene cards!
Kittie,
This is so pretty…. Again, I hear the seagulls calling out. You always make such beautiful flowers and your sky’s are gorgeous too. So much talent…. Thank you for sharing your wonderful creativity
This is really nice and peaceful. You do such a great job of explaining each thing that you do. I appreciate that so much. Thank you. You make me feel like I could possibly manage to do this card. I love how you color your animals too. I have learned how to make my animals (mostly deer) look so much more realistic using your techniques.
Kittie,
Absolutely fabulous! I’m loving all these beach scenes.
Love, love, love your beach scenes! Thanks for inspiring!
