Good Thursday morning. I have posted Christmas projects the last few days and decided to change it up and try out my new Hero Arts Paper Layering Swirl Flower. I paired the flower with the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle Stackables and My Favorite Things Leafy Greenery.
Right off let me say that I think this die cut is really beautiful just the way it is. But there was something driving me to add more dimension and I just couldn’t help myself.
I cut the flower out three times. Well not exactly. I didn’t want to waste paper so I cut sections of cardstock out just large enough to cover the middle petal layers out and then repeated with a small piece of cardstock for the tiny center petals. I used my snips to cut the small tabs all the around that were holding the petals in place. I repeated cutting the tiny petals section.
I laid all the sections face down on my molding pad and formed the petals with my large stylus. I turned the sections face up and pushed down in the center with my stylus to draw all the petals up. It was a little tricky with the large outer section since they all remained attached together but I managed. I wanted to build the layers up so I attached both the middle petal section and the smallest petal section to the card base with mounting tape. The flower was attached to the card base with glossy accents.
I formed a few pieces of foliage using my stylus and molding pad and tucked them in under the flower petals and attached with glossy accents. I added a large snow pearl to the flower center for the finishing touch.
Thanks for coming by today. Just so you know the Paper Layering Swirl Flower is on sale for 10% off at Ellen Hutson along with all in-stock Hero Arts items.

Kittie, what a beautiful card and you retain the title as the Queen of Flowers….lol. I love this card and I can see another die I’m going to have to get…. Thank you for sharing your wonderful creativity….
Your flowers are ALWAYS so gorgeous and this is no exception. I love this die (another must have for me) and what you have done to the flower to make it come to life. I am a true paper crafter and I LOVE layering on my cards. It’s my trademark.
Gorgeous, gorgeous card. So much awesome detail is put into your lovely cards.
Turned out beautiful…you had a vision with the flower and with the magic of your stylus, it came to be!
Good Afternoon, Kittie, a wonderful flower, a beautiful color, with lots of depth. I really like how you did the design and the excellent detail instructions are perfect. My wish list just keeps getting larger…. hugs.
