Good Sunday morning. My project today is a little out of my wheelhouse. I love seeing how others use sequins on their projects but I’ve never thought they would work well with my card making style. I thought I would throw caution to the wind and give it a try and ordered a few of the Pretty Pink Posh holiday and winter sets. I used the Holiday Shimmer Mix on my card today to embellish Julie’s Bird Shapes and Taylored Expressions Holly Embossing Folder.
I attached the embossed holly layer to the card base using strips of mounting tape. I applied Cosmic Glitter Glue and glitter to the holly leaves, allowed them to dry and attached them to the neck of the dove. I attached sequins to the neck of the dove using glossy accents. I used mounting tape to attach the dove to the card base.
My plan was to have the whole card be white on white with the only color being the holly and sequins but I didn’t really like it. I decided to add just a couple of sequins to the background but ended up adding more than I really should have. I just couldn’t seem to stop myself. I think this is a pretty card but it is definitely a case where less may have been better. LOL! With that said I have to say how much I love the bird image.
Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great day.

The card is very nice! Sequins are a little out of my comfort zone also, but I do like to use tone on tone.
