Good Friday afternoon. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My husband had to work but got off in time for us to enjoy a wonderful dinner together. Before I talk about my project I want to let you know to scroll down to the bottom of my post to see information about the sales going on in some of my favorite stores.
My project today was made using the Penny Black Bird Amidst Holly die paired with the My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames, Pierced Rectangle Frames and the Impression Obsession Holly Flourish. I fully intended to do this in nothing by red and white but it didn’t allow the bird to be seen well enough amidst the white. I tucked the green holly around the bird and I think it really makes it show better. I love how the double frame adds so much dimension.
I attached the two frames together with thin strips of mounting tape. Then I applied more strips of mounting tape to the back of the frames and attached to the card base. I cut two sections of the holly, punched 1/8” red circles and attached them over the berry sections of the branches with glossy accents. I applied small pieces of mounting tape to the back of the holly leaves and attached to the card base. The bird was attached with a double layer of mounting tape.
I applied the punched red circles to the green holly with glossy accents, cut the branch apart and tucked the pieces in around the bird and attached with glossy accents. I applied the red stickles to all the berries praying the whole time that I wouldn’t smear it somewhere on any of the white background or holly leaves. LOL!
I would be so honored if you would shop using my direct store links.
