My project today was made using the new Bushelful of Love paired with the Branches Corner, Oak Leaves and Rake, Small Grass Border, Grass Border, Small Leaf Set, All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2 and Foliage. I sort of pulled out everything but the kitchen sink on this one. I wanted my puppy dog to be popping out of the bushel basket surrounded by loads of fall leaves. I got started filling in around him with leaves and it took on a life of it’s own. LOL!
I started by applying color to all the leaves for the project using mini applicators and Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint and Fired Brick Distress Inks. I showed step by step pictures in my post yesterday showing how I color larger leaves. I thought I would show you a picture today showing you can even accomplish the same coloring technique on small leaves. I love the little oak leaves in this set. When I finished applying color to all the foliage I applied versa and embossed it all with clear embossing powder.
I stamped the bushel basket and puppy using Black Versafine and my MISTI. I heat set the ink and watercolored using Vintage Photo and Gathered Twigs reinkers. I fussy cut the images out using my snips. I used an ink blending tool and Cloud template to apply Broken China ink on the base card to create the clouds. I attached the Branches Corner and Grass Borders to the back of the frame using double stick tape, attached thin strips of mounting tape to the frame and attached the it to the card base.
I attached the front of the dog to the backside of bushel basket using glossy accents. I left the paws free and popped them up with a tiny piece of mounting tape. I tucked all the leaves and foliage around the dog and and attached them in place using glossy accents. I finished by adding several leaves around the ground and attached them with glossy accents. If I had it to do over again I would have made the dog black and white so he would show up better in the leaves.
Your next step on the hop will be Laura’s blog.
