I had so much fun this morning making this handmade garden scene with die cut birds and flowers. I had all of these dies left left over on my desk from making my Impression Obsession challenge card this past week and thought I would make another spring scene framed in all white and using all pink flowers with a pretty soft blue background. I used the Bride and Groom Frame, All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2, Grass Border, Small Grass Border, Foliage and Tiny Flowers.
I started by cutting the bride and groom frame in white, cut off the bridge and groom and colored the branches and leaves with Memento markers. The tree frame was trimmed a little to fit behind the front frame and attached with double stick tape. I added the grass border to the back of the frame with double stick tape. I applied Tumbled Glass ink to the background layer using an ink blending tool and added a few clouds using a cloud stencil. The blue background layer was attached to the back of the frame with double stick tape and then the whole frame and scene was attached to the card base using mounting tape.
The tiny pink flowers are formed using the stylus from my Garden Tool Kit and a molding pad and attached to the branches using glossy accents. The front grass border was attached to the frame using thin strips of mounting tape. The chair was attached to the card base using mounting tape. I cut the foliage sections apart, attached the tiny flowers using glossy accents and then tucked the foliage branches in behind the grass and attached with glossy accents. I added several birds to the branches and sky area for the finishing touch.
Thanks so much for coming by today. I hope you enjoyed seeing my handmade garden scene with die cut birds and flowers and that you’ll get busy and make one of your own.
