Good Friday morning. I had such a fun time coloring all these chicken die cuts to create my “little red hen” farm scene. I framed the scene using the Rubbernecker 5131D Square Combo #1 OPC Die layered with scalloped pieces using the 5028D Nested Rectangle Scallop Die. The scene was created using the 5126D Tree Panel #1, 5142-03D Chicken Squirrels Die Set and 5114D Mini Flower Stack.
The Frame and Tree Panel
I cut the frame sections and attached them together on the back using double stick tape. I hand cut a strip of green grass using my deckle scissors and attached it to the back of the frame. Thin strips of mounting tape were attached to the back of the frame. I trimmed off the excess tree panel to make it fit behind the frame and attached it to the strips of mounting tape and then attached it to the blue background card base.
Coloring the Chicken Die Cuts
The chickens were cut out using white cardstock. I used Sofft mini applicators to apply Wild Honey, Fired Brick and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink to layer color on the chickens.
Finishing the Scene
The chickens were tucked in behind the grass section and attached to the scene using mounting tape. I cut pieces off of a second tree panel die to use as foliage sprigs and attached them all around the chickens and base of the scene. I formed the tiniest red circles from the Mini Flower Stack and 1/8″ punched circles to create the flowers. I attached them all around the scene using glossy accents.
Don’t forget to check out the sale going on over at Rubbernecker Stamps. The sale ends on the 14th.
Do you like making outdoor scene cards? I had lots of fun using the chicken die cuts but this same scene could be created using any die cut animal. I hope you have been inspired to get your dies out to play. Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great weekend.
