Good Sunday morning. I have a pretty die cut hydrangea thank you card to share with you today. My flower was hand made using Rubbernecker Flower Buds and three layered circles. I used the Leaf set for the leaves and I hand cut the stem using my deckle scissors. The sentiment is from the Best Friends set. Do you love hydrangea flowers but don’t have a hydrangea die set. You can check out my Hydrangea Tutorial to see how I use punched or die cut tiny flowers to make my flowers.
Making the Hydrangea
I started creating the base for my hydrangea by cutting out a 1 1/4″, 3/4″and 1/2″ circles. I attached the three circles to each other using pieces of mounting tape. I applied Faded Jeans ink to a piece of Icy Mint cardstock to create a bit of variegated blue although it doesn’t show well in the photo. I cut two sections of the Flower Bud and formed them using my small tipped stylus and molding pad. I started assembling the flower by applying glossy accents to the top layer and attaching flowers all around the circle to cover. Next, I covered the whole second and third layers with the flowers and attached with glossy accents. Once all three layers were totally covered I added a few extra flowers in a few spots on the outer layer to make the circle look a little uneven and more natural.
The Leaves
I cut two leaves and added veins to each using the leaf tool and leaf pad from the Garden Tool Kit. Once the veins were added I used my fingers to gently bend the leaves to add natural dimension.
Assembling the Die Cut Hydrangea Thank You Card
I cut a piece of designer paper to the card base using double stick tape. The sentiment layer and stamp was secured in my MISTI and I used Peeled Paint ink to stamp the sentiment. I attached the sentiment was attached to the card base using strips of mounting tape. The stem, leaves and hydrangea were attached to the sentiment layer using glossy accents.
