Good Tuesday morning. I have an elegant scalloped frame with butterfly and flowers card to share with you today made using Rubbernecker Stamps and dies and sentiment. The frame was made using 5119D Nested Circle Scallop with Holes and 5029D Nested Circle Scallop. The double layered butterfly with flowers was made using 3020D Butterflies are Free, 5147-05D Flower Stems, 5147-09D Flower Buds. The sentiment is 627-02 Gentle as a Butterfly. The sentiment and dies are all on 15% off at Rubbernecker’s July 4th holiday sale.
The Frame and Sentiment
I secured the stamp and cardstock in my MISTI, applied versa and stamped the sentiment. The clear versa is a little hard to see on white cardstock so I applied more versa to the stamp, stamped it a second time just to make sure I had good ink coverage and then sprinkled with gold embossing powder and heated with my heat gun.
I cut the large white scalloped layer, centering the smaller scalloped die in place and then cutting to create the frame. I cut a yellow scalloped frame and attached it to the back of the white frame using strips of mounting tape. I applied double stick tape to the back of the frame, attached to the frame and then attached the whole framed sentiment to the yellow card base using double stick tape. I like adding dimension to my projects so I attached the whole yellow layer and frame to the white card base with pieces of mounting tape. That additional layer of dimension adds lots more interest to the card than if it were attached flat to the base.
Scalloped Frame with Butterfly and Flowers
I cut several pieces of stems and small white flowers and I formed the flowers using my stylus and molding pad. I cut the butterfly in yellow and attached the stems and flowers using glossy accents. When I went to attach the butterfly to the frame I saw that the bottom of the yellow butterfly didn’t show up well against the yellow base layer. I cut a white butterfly and attached it to the frame and then offset the yellow butterfly and attached it over the white butterfly with glossy accents. I attached yellow Nuvo Crystal Drops in the flower centers using glossy accents for the finishing touch.
