Good Thursday morning. My die cut bird, branches and flowers project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge. You can see the sketch below. Needless to say I miscalculated on the size of my decorative frame and went outside the lines of the layout but I love how it turned out anyway. I used the Impression Obsession Square Frame for the square layer, filled the inner frame with Songbird Branch and Branches Corner and created the floral arrangement using Bunch of Blossoms and Foliage.
The Birds and Branches
I began by cutting the Songbird Branch in green and then cut just the bird section again in white. I colored the white birds using two light blue shades of Copic markers and then added a little bit of darker blue shading using a mini applicator and Broken China ink. I cut the colored birds off the piece of branch and attached them over the birds on the green branch using glossy accents. I cut the small branches off the Branches Corner and used them to fill in around the birds and attached with glossy accents.
The Frame
I cut the frame and attached small pieces of double stick tape on two of the corners on the back of the frame. I attached the bird branch to the frame, applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and small pieces to the back of the birds and attached the whole thing to the card base.
The Flowers and Foliage
I cut the flowers using white cardstock and colored them with the light blue Copic markers and lightly touched the centers with a mini applicator and Broken China ink. I wanted the flowers to match the birds but not be as deep blue. I cut apart the foliage sections and attached them to the corner of the frame using glossy accents. I formed the flowers using my stylus and molding pad and then attached them to the foliage using glossy accents. I finished by attaching pre made white Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flowers using glossy accents.
Die Cut Bird, Branches and Flowers
I hope you enjoyed seeing my die cut bird, branches and flowers card. I always have fun pulling out my dies and coming up with different ways to use them together to create interesting projects. Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great day.
