Good Wednesday morning. I have a clean and simple snowy tree scene card to share with you today using the new Impression Obsession Wintery Day scene stamp. I added a bit of dimension to the scene by framing it using the All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2 and embellishing it with a Small Poinsettia, Pine Pair and Cardinals.
The Snowy Tree Scene and Frame
I secured the Wintery Day stamp and cardstock in place in my MISTI, applied Peeled Paint ink to the image and stamped. The first image was a little light so I applied more ink and stamped it a second time. Using a MISTI for this type of stamping is such a help. I applied mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it to the card base.
Embellishing the Snowy Tree Scene Card
I felt like the right top corner of the scene looked too blank and wanted to add something of interest to the corner. It was a perfect place for a small stamped sentiment but I decided to use a poinsettia and pine to add dimension. I cut one full section of the poinsettia in red and then cut the largest flower in green. I formed the petals using my stylus and molding pad and then attached the layers together using glossy accents. I applied the large green poinsettia to the bottom of the flower to appear as a green foliage base.
I cut three sections of pine, trimmed them to shorten and attached them to the corner of the frame using glossy accents to create a base for the poinsettia. Next, I applied glossy accents to the back of the poinsettia and attached it to the pine. I formed 3 1/8″ punched circles with my smallest tipped stylus and molding pad and attached them in the center of the poinsettia using glossy accents.
I thought the scene needed another touch of red so I attached the two flying cardinals using small pieces of mounting tape for the finishing touch.
Thank you for coming by today and I hope you have enjoyed seeing my snowy tree scene card using the new Wintery Day stamp.
