Die Cut Christmas Tags

Good Monday morning.  Today I’m sharing masculine and feminine die cut Christmas tags using several of the newly released dies by Rubbernecker Stamps

For the first tag I created a pretty outdoor wildlife scene using the Nested Tag set, 3 Pine TreesPine Tree Forest, Tree in Oval, Small Birds, Greenery and Wildlife Set.

Come check out how I made this masculine die cut Christmas tag.

The Tree Background and Tag Frame

  • Cut the tag using white cardstock.
  • Secure the tag in the MISTI and stamped the tree three times using Peeled Paint ink.
  • Apply Tumbled Glass to the sky area of the tag using an ink blending tool.
  • Cut the tag frame using the two largest dies and red cardstock.
  • Cut the tree portion of the Tree in Oval using green cardstock.
  • Cut the Pine Tree Forest using green cardstock.
  • Hand cut two snow sections using white cardstock and deckle scissors.
  • Apply double stick tape to the back of the red tag frame and attach the front snow layer and large tree.
  • Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the tag frame, attach the second snow layer and attach the whole frame section to the tag base.

The Buck, Birds and Greenery

  • Cut a set of greenery using green cardstock and use a tiny brush to apply white gesso to the tips and set aside to dry.
  • Cut the buck using white cardstock.
  • Color the buck using Antique Linen and Vintage Photo ink and mini applicators. Check out my coloring die cut animals tutorial if you would like to see how I apply the ink to the buck.
  • Cut a section of birds using red cardstock.
  • Cut three or four trees off the Pine Tree Forest and tuck it in behind the snow layer and attach with mounting tape.
  • Attach the buck in behind the first snow layer and attach to the base using a piece of mounting tape.
  • Attach pieces of white tipped greenery in behind the snow layer and around the buck and attach with glossy accents.
  • Finish by attaching the birds using small pieces of mounting tape.

Come check out how I made this beautiful die cut Christmas tag.

For my second tag I used the Nested Tags, Poinsettia #2, Holly and Magic of Christmas980-11 Magic of Christmas.

The Tag Frames and Base

  • Cut a tag frame using red cardstock and the two largest tags in the set.
  • Cut a tag frame using red cardstock and the largest and middle sized tags in the set.
  • Cut the largest tag using white cardstock.
  • Secure the white tag in the MISTI , stamp the sentiment using gold embossing powder and heat with heat gun.
  • Apply double stick tape around the wider tag frame and attach it over the white tag layer.
  • Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the thinner tag and attach it over the matted tag layer.

The Poinsettia and Holly

  • Cut the poinsettia layers using red cardstock. I only used the three smaller of the four flowers.
  • Cut the second largest poinsettia two times using green cardstock.
  • Cut the tiny flowers using yellow cardstock.
  • Place the flower layers face down on the molding pad and form the petals using the large round stylus head.
  • Place the flower layers face up and push down in the centers using a smaller stylus head.
  • Attach the flower sections together using glossy accents.  Make sure to offset each one so no layers are laying directly over the other.
  • Attach the tiny yellow flower in the center of the poinsettia using glossy accents.
  • Cut two sections of holly using green cardstock and the berries using red cardstock.
  • Apply glossy accents to the berry bases and pick up the red berries using a jewel picker and attach to the base.
  • Attach the poinsettia to the tag base using glossy accents.
  • Gently form the holly leaves with your fingers and tuck them under the poinsettia and attach with glossy accents.
  • Apply sparkle to the poinsettia petals and holly berries using a clear overlay pen.
  • Apply yellow stickles to the tiny flower center.
  • Check out my poinsettia tutorial if you would like to see how I form my flowers.  I used a different set for the tutorial but the concept is the same.

Do You Like My New Format?

I would love to hear from you about how you like the bullet point tutorial format I have been using the last several weeks.  Is it helpful?  Did you like the paragraph format better?  I find the bullet point format easier for me to keep track of all the steps as I write my post.  But the main reason I share on my blog is to help inspire others.  I want the format I use to be the most helpful.  I would sure appreciate you sharing your opinion.

Thanks for coming by today and I hope you have enjoyed see my two die cut Christmas tags. I had lots of fun making them.

  1. Lovely! They must look amazing on your gifts. I hope the recipients don’t throw them out after the holidays. They are pretty enough to hang on the tree. 🙂

The new bullet format is very easy to follow. It is nice when things are set out step by step…especially for easily confused people like me! lol

Thank you for sharing your beautiful work! 🙂
