Good Friday morning. I have a die cut Black Eyed Susans project to share with you today using the new Rubbernecker 5175-07D Flowers set paired with the Rectangle Combo OPC and Nested Rectangle Scallop w/Holes.
Coloring the Black Eyed Susans
- Cut the flower using white cardstock.
- Color the stems using a Pale Green Copic Marker.
- Color the flower petals using a Pumpkin Yellow Copic Marker.
- Apply shading to the flower petals using Spiced Marmalade ink and a mini applicator.
- Apply Gathered Twigs ink to the flower centers using a mini applicator.
- Use a black Copic Mulitliner to add dots of texture to the flower centers.
- Finish by apply a layer of sparkle to the flower centers using a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay pen.
Assemble the Card
- Cut the yellow check paper using the Nested Rectangle Scallop die.
- Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the layer and attach to the card base.
- Cut the brown frame using the Rectangle Combo die.
- Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attach it to the yellow layer.
- Apply small pieces of mounting tape to the back of each flower and thin strips to the back of the stems and attach to the yellow layer and frame.
This was a fast and easy card to make and I really love the country feel of the die cut Black Eyed Susans with the yellow gingham paper. All of these dies are included in the Rubbernecker Year End Sale that is going on this weekend. Everything in the store is on sale so it’s the perfect time for you to pull out your wish list and go shopping. Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great day.

Your flowers look AWESOME, Kittie! The extra color you’ve added, along with their shimmering centers make these flowers GORGEOUS!!! 😉
Oh my goodness is that ever gorgeous, your coloring is fantastic and love how you did the centers, great papers to go with it and framing!
This is such a beautiful card Kitty! I love the bright vibrant orange and yellow and the gingham check!
Your brown eyed Susans are so summery! A nice change from the snow falling and blowing around right now. The shading of the petals is perfect and they look so sweet on the gingham background. Thank you for sharing your lovely work today! 🙂
