Masculine Die Cut Christmas Card

My project today is a clean and simple masculine die cut Christmas card.  I have loved creating cards with rustic trucks and Christmas trees since I first played with the Stampin’ Up! Loads of Love set. back in 2005.  Back then I did lots of fussy cutting and layering to create a dimensional truck and tree.  The Truck Die Set by Rubbernecker Stamps is one of my all time favorite dies and is so easy to assemble and is perfect for masculine cards. I paired the truck with the tree from the Tree in Oval  and Tiny Leaves and framed it using the Rectangle Combo #4.  The designer paper background is from the Carta Bella Christmas Market Collection – 6 x 6 pad.  There are several pages in the pad with the red truck image.

The Frame and Snow Layers

  • Cut the designer paper to 5.50″ x 4.25″ and attach it to the card base using double stick tape.
  • Cut the frame using red cardstock and two snow layers using white cardstock.
  • Attach the two snow layers to the back of the frame using double stick tape.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attach it to the card base.

The Truck, Wreath and Tree

  • Cut the truck parts using red, white, woodgrain and black cardstock.
  • Assemble the pieces together and attach using rolled strips of double stick tape and glossy accents.
  • Cut tiny leaves using green cardstock.
  • Hand cut a tiny green circle to use as a wreath base and attach the leaves to the base using glossy accents.
  • Apply glossy accents to the wreath and attach it to the truck door.
  • Tie a tiny red bow and attach it to the wreath using glue dots. Note:  I buy the 1/8″ red ribbon at Michaels for .50 and it’s perfect to use to decorate tiny objects like the wreath.
  • Cut two trees, trim them to fit behind the truck bed and attach using double stick tape.
  • Apply mounting tape to the back of the truck, tuck the tires in between the snow layers and attach to the card base.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing this masculine die cut Christmas card.  I find it a little challenging to come up with good ideas for masculine cards.  Men certainly don’t like lots of fussy decorations so this truck is the perfect centerpiece of a card.  Check out this link to see all the other projects I have made using this fun truck.  And you can find lots more truck card inspiration on this Pinterest link.  Thank you for coming by and I hope you have a great day.
