My project today is a birdhouse Christmas card using several dies by Rubbernecker Stamps. I used the largest tag die from the Nested Tag Stitch Set and an oval die from the Nested Oval Scallop set to create a frame for my scene. The snowy background was created on Kraft cardstock using the Splatter Background. I used one tree from the Tabbed Birch Tree set, the smallest birdhouse from the Birdhouse Set, Evergreen Trees and three Cardinals to complete the scene. The foliage decoration on the frame was created using the Holly #1 and Greenery #2 sets. The black and red checked paper is from the Carta Bella Christmas Market 6 x 6 pad.
The Tag Frame and Snowy Background
- Line up the tag and oval dies with white cardstock on the magnetic platform and run through the die cutting machine.
- Apply white pigment ink to the Splatter Background, stamp on Kraft cardstock and emboss with white embossing powder.
- Use white cardstock to cut the birch tree and attach it to the back of the frame using double stick tape.
- Adhere mounting tape to the back of the frame and attach it to the Kraft snowy background.
- Attach the frame to the card base using strips of mounting tape.
The Evergreen Trees and Cardinals
- Use green cardstock to cut the Evergreen trees.
- Stamp the Splatter Background on the trees using white pigment ink and emboss with white embossing powder.
- Attach strips of mounting tape to the back of the trees and attach them to the frame base.
- Use red cardstock to cut the cardinals and use a black marker to color the bird beaks.
- Apply small pieces of mounting tape to the back of the cardinals and attach them to the scene.
The Holly and Greenery Branches
- Use green cardstock to cut the holly and greenery branches and red cardstock for the holly berries.
- Apply small dots of glossy accents to the holly and attach the red berries.
- Arrange the holly branches on the corner of the tag frame and attach using glossy accents.
- Tuck the greenery branches in behind the holly and attach using glossy accents.
- Tie a red multi loop bow and attach it to the arrangement using glue dots.
