Snow Globe Card

Today I’m sharing a snow globe card with a snowy winter cabin scene.  I think it is so much fun creating a scene in such a small space. I used The Rubbernecker Stamps Nested Rectangle Scallop w/HolesSnow Globe, Cabin, Deckle Hills, Pine Tree Forest, Small Birds, Wreath Set and Splatter Background.  I love how the whole snow globe scene pops against the bright red and white background.

Come see how I made this snow globe card.

The Layered Card Base

  • Cut the scalloped layer using white cardstock.
  • Attach strips of mounting tape to the back of the scalloped layer and attach it to the card base.
  • Apply ATG adhesive to the red layer and attach it to the scallop layer.

The Snow Globe Base

  • Use blue cardstock to cut the snow globe circle background and white cardstock for the snow layers.
  • Cut the snow globe pedestal base for the snow globe using metallic gold foil cardstock.
  • Apply white pigment ink to the splatter background and stamp the blue circle base.
  • Sprinkle the blue circle background with white embossing powder and heat with the heat gun.
  • Use the snow globe circle to cut two snow layer sections.
  • Apply ATG adhesive on the back of both snow layers and attach them to the circle base.

The Trees and Cabin

  • Use green cardstock to cut the trees and woodgrain, yellow and white cardstock to cut the cabin sections. .
  • Apply white pigment ink to the Splatter Background and stamp the trees. Sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat.
  • Use a rolled strip of double stick tape to attach the roof section to the cabin and double stick tape to attach the yellow background to cover the window openings.
  • Tuck the back row of trees in behind the back snow layer and attach to the base using pieces of mounting tape.
  • Attach mounting tape to the back of the cabin and tuck it in behind the front snow layer and attach to the base,
  • Trim a few trees off the tree panel and tuck in around the cabin and attach with mounting tape.

Finish the Card

  • Attach the snow globe scene to the card base using ATG adhesive.
  • Apply a strip of rolled up double stick tape to the back of the gold pedestal and attach to the snow globe.
  • Use red cardstock to cut the cardinals.  Apply a black beak to the birds using a black Copic marker.
  • Attach the birds to the scene using small pieces of mounting tape.
  • Cut three holly sections from the Wreath set and attach them to the pedestal using glossy accents.
  • Finish by attaching a red multi loop bow to the holly with glue dots.  Check out my multi loop bow video if you would like to see how I made my bow.
