Mini Terracotta Pot with Paper Flowers and Foliage

Today I’m sharing a mini terracotta pot with paper flowers and foliage.  I love trying my hand at coming up with different ways to use my dies and thought this little flower pot arrangement was perfect to add to my “anything but a card” category.  I used the Rubbernecker Small Flowers #1, Large Ivy and Leaf Group to fill the pot.

The pot is only two inches across and I felt I could fill it with foliage if I added strips of cardstock inside the pot to attach everything to.  I added two strips and began attaching branches using glossy accents.  I actually added a couple more strips of cardstock inside the pot to the ones you see below after I got started but forgot to take another picture.

The Pot and Arrangement Base Strips

  • Cut strips of green cardstock about 3″ wide and lightly score at 1/2″ on each end.
  • Apply 1/2″ double stick tape on each end.
  • Place the first strip straight across the middle and secure each end to the sides of the pot.
  • Cut a slit in the middle of the second strip and slide it down over the first and secure the ends to the pot.
  • Note:  Not shown in the photo above.  I secured shorter strips across each 1/4″ opening to give me places to secure the die cut foliage to for the arrangement.

The Foliage

  • Use green cardstock to cut several sections of the Leaf Group and Large Ivy.
  • Cut the Leaf Group branches into 3 sections and begin attaching them in the center of the pot using glossy accents.
  • Continue attaching the branches working out from the center and filling in all the way around to create a full foliage base.
  • Cut several of the Large Ivy sections into two parts and attach a few of them inside the rim to face out over the edge of the pot.
  • Attach more of the trimmed Large Ivy sections to fill in the arrangement.
  • Finish the foliage arrangement by attaching full branches of the Large Ivy near the center of the arrangement so the leaves stand out above the other foliage leaves.

The Flowers

  • Cut two sections of the Small Flowers using purple cardstock.
  • Place all the flowers face up on the molding pad.
  • Form each flower by pushing down in the center with a small tipped stylus to push the petals up.
  • Attach the flowers to the foliage using glossy accents.
