Sentiments for Handmade Cards – One of My Faves!

I am ALWAYS looking for good sentiments for handmade cards and I just love this one. I make lots of cards with paper flowers – I love them as I am sure you’ve seen! – and this sentiment fits so many occasions. It can be for encouragement, congratulations, sympathy, birthday….. I am sort of having trouble as I write this thinking of a time when this stamp from Rubbernecker would NOT work!

For this project I used the Rubbernecker Watering Can, Large Ivy, Small Flowers #1, Small Butterfly, Nested Rectangle Scallop and Blooms Your Way.

The Card and Sentiment Base

• Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base and scalloped layer and purple cardstock to cut the purple layer.
• Secure the sentiment stamp and scalloped layer in the MISTI.
• Apply Nocturne ink to the stamp and stamp the sentiment.
• Apply ATG adhesive to the back of the scalloped layer and attach to the purple layer.
• Use mounting tape to attach the scalloped sentiment layers to the card base.

The Watering Can Flower Arrangement

• Cut the watering can using gray cardstock, the flowers and butterfly using purple cardstock and the ivy using green cardstock.
• Apply a light layer of Wild Honey ink to key spots of the watering can using a mini applicator. 
• Continue adding darker touches of shading using Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo inks using mini applicators to finish the can.
• Create the ivy arrangement by attaching branches to the back of the can using glossy accents.
• Form the tiny flowers using s small tipped stylus and molding pad and attach them to the ivy using glossy accents.
• Apply pieces of mounting tape to the back of the can and ivy and attach it to the card base.
• Apply pre made white Nuvo Crystal Drops to the small butterfly using glossy accents.
• Finish the card by attaching the small butterfly to the sentient layer using glossy accents.
