A Cute Welcome Spring Card!

Today I am sharing a super cute Welcome Spring card using a bunch of fun dies from Rubbernecker. It may seem a little early for a Welcome Spring card – I know some areas are still getting tons of snow and chilly weather – but the good thing is Spring always does arrive and this card can get your friend ready for the blooming season.

For this card I used the Wheelbarrow, Tall Terracotta Pots, Grass, Watering Can, Tall Buckets, Small Flowers #1, Tiny Flower Buds, Leaf Group, Small Ivy, Small ButterfliesGrass #2  and Rectangle Combo #4.

It's never to early to send a Welcome Spring card - click through to see how fun this is to make!

The Frame and Grass

  • Cut an A2 sized card base using white cardstock.
  • Use blue cardstock to cut the frame sections and green cardstock to cut the grass layers.
  • Attach the two frame layers together using double stick tape.
  • Cut the grass layer to fit in the frame and attach it to the double stick tape.
  • Apply mounting tape to the back of the frame and attach it to the card base.

The Wheelbarrow, Bucket, Watering Can and Flower Pots

  • Cut the wheelbarrow and bucket using gray cardstock and the flower pots using yellow cardstock.
  • Apply Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge ink to the wheelbarrow and bucket using mini applicators to distress and age.
  • Use Vintage Photo ink on the wheelbarrow handles.
  • Apply Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge ink to the flower pots using mini applicators.
  • Cut a watering can using aqua cardstock.

The Flower Pot Arrangements

  • Cut the flowers using pink, purple and yellow cardstock.
  • Form the flowers using a small tipped stylus and molding pad.
  • Use green cardstock to cut the foliage.
  • Cut the Leaf Group foliage sections apart and attach them to the back of the flower pots using glossy accents.
  • Attach the flowers to the foliage in the flower pots using glossy accents.
  • Use glossy accents to attach pre made white Nuvo Crystal drops to the center to the pink flowers.  Note:  I keep a supply of Nuvo Crystal Drops on a piece of craft sheet to have on hand for when I need them for flower centers, etc.  Using pre made drops are so much cheaper than buying tiny white pearls.

Assemble the Scene

  • Use glossy accents to attach the two buckets to the back of the wheelbarrow.
  • Tuck the wheelbarrow in behind the grass layer and attach it to the card base using a piece of mounting tape.
  • Apply mounting tape to the bucket, watering can and third flower pot, tuck them in behind the grass and attach to the card base.
  • Cut Grass #2 using green cardstock and tuck them in behind the grass section and attach using glossy accents.
  • Finish the scene by cutting small butterflies using aqua cardstock and attach them to the card base using glossy accents.

Even if the throes of winter a Welcome Spring card can be a special treat - come see how to make this!

Think of those people who could use a breath of SPRING air and get them ready by sending this Welcome Spring card – you might even pop a little packet of flower seeds in there to get them excited!  You can see more spring flower card inspiration on this Pinterest link. I sure do appreciate you coming by and I hope you are having a good week.
