Layered Stamping with Rubbernecker Color Fuse Inks

Rubbernecker has created Color Fuse, a quick drying dye ink created especially for layered stamping, utilizing progressive color value in each hue.  Along with the inks they have released six new beautiful floral layered stamp sets that work beautifully with the inks.  My project today was made using the new Happy Mother’s Day stamp set and Color Fuse Set #5.  The flower and sentiment layer was framed with the new Nested Scallop with Holes.

Come see how I created this layered rose project using the new Rubbernecker Color Fuse inks and layered stamp sets.

The Layered Flower and Foliage

I love that Rubbernecker has provided a step by step instruction sheet in each layered stamp set showing how to create the multi layered flower and foliage.  The clear stamps are very easy to line up with my acrylic blocks but I like to use my MISTI for stamping just in case I need to add another layered of ink for good coverage.

  • Secure the cardstock and stamp in the MISTI.
  • Apply the lightest color ink in the set to stamp the first base layer of the flower.
  • Continue with step two and three using the third and fourth darker shades of ink in the set.
  • Stamp the flower center using black ink.  I liked using the black ink for the flower center for the contrast but you can choose to use any color you like.
  • Mask the flower with tape and stamp the foliage layers and sentiment using inks from the Color Fuse Set #11.
  • Note:  I love adding dimension to my cards so I actually stamped my flower on a separate piece of cardstock and fussy cut it out so I could pop it up with mounting tape.

The Scalloped Frame

  • Round the corners of the foliage and sentiment layer using a corner rounder punch.  Note:  I used my old Stampin’ Up corner rounder punch.  I’m sorry I couldn’t find one to link for you.
  • Cut the scalloped frame once using white cardstock and again using bright pink.
  • Apply double stick tape to the back of both frame layers and attach them to the card base.
  • Apply mounting tape to the back of the flower and sentiment layer and attach it to the card base.
  • Use a piece of mounting tape to pop the rose up on the card baser.

I had so much fun making this floral project using the layered stamping set by Rubbernecker.  The new progressive ink sets take all the guess work out of figuring out what colors work best to create the different layers.  Do you like layered stamping?  You can find tons of layered stamping inspiration on this Pinterest link.  Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a great upcoming weekend.

  1. This is BEAUTIFUL, Kittie! I LOVE that image! Do I like layered stamping? LOL Well, I have a love-hate relationship with them! LOL I LOVE how they look, but even with my Misti, I have issues with getting them straight! I am LEARNING to love them more though. LOL It takes TIME for me to catch on, & then there’s that coloring issue…. LOL But, you CAN color with the layered stamps too!!! A SUPER JOB on this Kittie!!! LOVE how you framed this up too! SO LOVELY!!! ;)<3

  2. Hi Kittie! I love your card! I’m glad you used this die on your card; otherwise, I wouldn’t have known how beautiful it is.

Will you be at Expo in Orlando this month? Hopefully, you’ll bring some of these dies with you. I’m definitely interested in it!!!

  3. Beautiful! New dies make me nervous, my hubby reminds me it’s just paper. It’s the prototype, do you have a ritual for using your diès?
