Spring Garden Trellis Card

Today I’m sharing a spring garden trellis card and I love the soft pastel flowers and simple white on white background.  Making this card made me happy and I feel fortunate that I have such a fun hobby to keep my mind off the trials our country is going through.  Paper crafting was a great stress reliever for me when I worked full time and still is today. Thinking through the design process and then the act of creating a project clears my mind of all the “stuff” going on.  How about you?  Does your hobby/hobbies help you through tough times?

For this project I used the Rubbernecker Arch Trellis, Inside Scallop Nested Set, Small Ivy, Tiny Flower Buds, Wide Terracotta Pots, Watering Can and Watering Can.

This spring garden trellis card is so pretty and perfect for any occasion. Click on the photo to see more details.

The Frame and Layered Card Base

  • Cut a white piece of cardstock 5.50″ x 4.25″.
  • Place the cardstock on the cutting platform, line up the largest die from the Inside Scallop set and cut out the frame.
  • Place the rectangle piece that was left from cutting the frame on the cutting platform and use the second largest die from the set to cut the scene layer.
  • Use the same size die to cut a small section using green cardstock and then use the grass die to cut the grass border.
  • Attach the grass layer to the scene layer using a strip of mounting tape.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attach it to the white card base.
  • Use strips of mounting tape to attach the scene layer inside the frame and attach it to the card base.

The Arch Trellis

  • Use white cardstock to cut the arch trellis and green cardstock to cut the small ivy sections.
  • Apply glossy accents to the small ivy sections and attach them all the way around the trellis.
  • Cut pink, yellow, purple and aqua tiny flower and form them using a small tipped stylus and molding pad,
  • Use glossy accents to attach the tiny flowers to the ivy all the around the trellis.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape all the way around the back of the trellis, tuck it in behind the grass layer and attach it to the scene base.

Making this spring garden trellis card was so much fun. Come over to my blog to see more details.

The Flower Pots and Watering Can

  • Cut the terracotta pots using yellow cardstock and cut the watering can using purple cardstock.
  • Color the terracotta pots using a mini applicator and Apricot and Pumpkin inks from the Color Fuse Set #2.
  • Attach small ivy sections to the back of the pots using glossy accents.
  • Use glossy accents to attach the tiny flowers the ivy in the pots.
  • Apply pieces of mounting tape to the back of the pots and the watering can and attach them to the grass.

I love the soft pastel colors on this spring garden trellis card. Click on the picture to see more details.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my spring garden trellis card.  The Arch Trellis is one of my favorite new dies.  It’s one of those dies that serves double duty.  Not only have I used it a few times in outdoor scenes but I’ve also used it as a window.  Check out this Arch Trellis link to see all my other projects.  You can get even more garden trellis inspiration at this Pinterest link.  I sure do appreciate you coming by and I hope you stay home and stay safe this weekend.
