Sentiment With Flowers

Today I’m sharing a fairly clean and simple card with a framed sentiment with flowers and foliage. The brightly colored flowers and foliage pops against the black and white and draws the eye in to the sentiment.  I used the Crinkle Oval Frame to create a frame for the Thinking of You sentiment and cut out out the oval frame using the Nested Oval set.  The Mixable Flower Stack 5109D and Large Ivy were created to embellish the frame and sentiment.  I used the Vertical Stripe stamp to create the bold background.

Create a classic card by framing the sentiment with flowers and foliage and layering it on a card base with a bold background.

The Striped Card Base

  • Cut a white A2 sized card base.
  • Secure a piece of white cardstock and the striped stamp in the MISTI.
  • Apply Nocturne ink to the stamp and stamp on the cardstock. Note:  I love using my MISTI to stamp.  It allows me to stamp more than once to make sure I get good coverage.
  • Apply clear embossing powder and heat emboss.
  • Cut the striped piece to 5.25″ x 4.00″, apply strips of mounting tape and attach to the card base.

The Crinkle Frame and Sentiment

  • Secure a piece of white cardstock and the Crinkle Oval Frame in the MISTI.
  • Apply Nocturne ink and stamp.
  • Repeat the step with the sentiment stamp.
  • Apply clear embossing powder and heat emboss.
  • Place the sentiment layer on the cutting platform and cover with a piece of waxed paper.
  • Line up the oval die over the Crinkle Oval Frame and run through the machine.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the oval layer and attach to the card base.

Frame a sentiment with flowers and highlight the layer by placing it on a card base with a bold background.

The Flowers and Ivy

  • Cut the flowers using bright pink cardstock and the ivy using bright green cardstock.
  • Place the flowers face down on the molding pad and form the petals using the round stylus.
  • Place the flowers face up and push down in the center of each layer using a small tipped stylus.
  • Attach the flower sections together using glossy accents.
  • Attach the ivy sections to the oval sentiment layer using glossy accents.
  • Finish the card by attaching the flowers to the sentiment layer using glossy accents.

Create a lovely card by framing the sentiment with flowers and placing it on a bold background.
