A Cute Beach Picnic Card!

I know that for so many people a beach picnic is one of the true markers of summer. And this year, it’s not as easy to just pack up and pop out for one of those summery hallmarks. We can still share the fun, the memories and the promise of MORE beach picnics to come with this cute picnic card. And it’s pretty easy to make with all the dies from Rubbernecker.

For this card I used the Nested Scallop with Half Holes, Picnic Table, Palm Trees, Cooler, Deckle Hills, Small Birds and Sun Moon.

Make a beach picnic card for those days when you and your friends just can

The Ocean and Sky Background

  • Cut a white A2 Sized card using white cardstock.
  • Use white cardstock to cut the scalloped layer.
  • Mask the scalloped borders all the way around with masking tape.
  • Apply a piece of masking tape across the middle of the scene and apply Beachside ink to create the ocean using a blender brush.
  • Remove the middle mask and apply Beachside ink to the sky area using a blender brush.
  • Use Kraft cardstock to cut the sand section.
  • Line up the scalloped die on the sand section and run through the machine to create a matching border.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the scene layer and attach it to the card base.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the sand layer and attach it to the scene base.

The Picnic Table and Cooler

  • Cut the picnic table and benches using brown woodgrain cardstock.
  • Cut the table cloth using gingham cardstock.
  • Attach the table cloth to the table top using rolled up double stick tape.
  • Use pieces of mounting tape to attach the table and benches to the scene base.
  • Cut the cooler using red, white and black cardstock and the bottles and cans using colorful cardstock.
  • Assemble the cooler pieces and drinks and attach together using glossy accents.
  • Attach the cooler to the card base using mounting tape.

I love this beach picnic card because I can almost smell the sea, feel the sand and hear the clink of those soda bottles - click through to see how easy this is to make!

The Palm Trees and Sun

  • Cut the palm frond using green cardstock and the trunks using Kraft cardstock.
  • Apply Pecan ink to the tree trunks using a mini applicator.
  • Attach the fronds to the tree trunks using glossy accents.
  • Gentle form the fronds with your fingers.
  • Tuck the trees in behind the sand layer and attach using glossy accents.
  • Use bright yellow cardstock to cut the sun and attach it to the sky area using a piece of mounting tape.
