Easy Christmas Cards To Make This Year

No matter how much we all might love super detailed, technique loaded projects, ideas for easy Christmas cards to make are always in demand because sometimes we have so many to send OR the holiday preparations get away from us and we are left with less time. This card is one of those projects where you can do a batch in stages, make one at a time, or even scale it up or down depending on your motivation.

For this card I used the Rubbernecker Inside Scallop Nested, Winter Wonderland and Merry and Bright.

And idea for easy Christmas cards to make using a small collection of stamps and dies from Rubbernecker to make this pretty pine cone decoration

The Card Base

  • Use white cardstock to cut the A2 sized card base and scallop layer and red cardstock to cut the layering piece.
  • Apply ATG adhesive to the red layer and attach it to the card base.

The Stamped Images

  • Stamp the sentiment using Versa and emboss with super fine gold embossing powder.
  • Create masks for the pinecone image using printer paper or Post-It note by stamping two pinecone images.
  • Hand cut the pinecone masks using snips and apply removable adhesive to the back of them.
  • Stamp one pinecone image on a piece of white cardstock using Versafine Clair brown ink, heat set and set aside.
  • Stamp one pinecone image on the scalloped layer using  brown ink and heat set the ink.
  • Apply the first mask over the stamped pinecone and stamp the second pinecone and heat set.
  • Apply the second pinecone mask over the second pinecone to prepare to stamp the pine branches.
  • Stamp the pine images over the masked pinecones using Versafine Clair green ink and heat set.
  • Remove the masks and use a green marker to fill in the white openings on the pine needles.

Color and Emboss the Pinecones

  • Apply Color Fuse Mocha brown ink to all three of the stamped pinecones using a mini applicator.
  • Use touches of Color Fuse Pecan brown ink to fill in between the layers of the pinecones.
  • Apply Versamark to the individual pinecone and emboss with clear embossing powder.
  • Use a Versamark pen to apply versa to the two pinecones on the scallop layer and emboss with clear embossing powder.
  • Apply two or three rolled up glue dots to the back bottom of the individual pinecone and glossy accents to the back top and attach over the two pinecones.
  • Finish by tying a red multi loop bow to the top of the pine and pinecone images.  Note:  Check out my multi loop bow video tutorial if you would like to how I make my bows.

  1. Beautiful card, Kittie. The hero arts new ink combinations are so pretty. I like how nice they cover the stamp.
I am still debating the new versafine ink pads. The versafine black ink is one of my favorite, everyday ink pads.
