Glittery Halloween Spider Greeting Cards

Creepy goes glam – make some dressed up Halloween spider greeting cards!

Some people love ’em and some people hate ’em but Halloween spider greeting cards remain a very popular theme for people creating DIY projects for this holiday. You know I have talked in the past about not loving scary or spooky cards all that much so I knew if I was going to use these creepy critters, they’d have to be fabulous. Enter GLITTER!

Halloween spider greeting cards made using die cuts from Rubbernecker with the spiders covered in sparkly glitter for some added glam

The Card Base and White Frame

  • Cut a white A2 sized card base and a 5.50″ x 4.25″ orange layer.
  • Attach the orange layer to the card base using ATG adhesive.
  • Cut a white 5.25″ x 4.00″ layer, center the Nested Rectangle frame die, secure in place with masking tape and run through the die cutting machine to cut the frame.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the white frame and attach it to the orange card base.

The Black Frame, Spider Webs and Making The Spiders Sparkle

  • Use black cardstock to cut a 4.25″ x 3.00″ layer.
  • Center the rectangle die on the black layer, secure in place with masking tape and run through the cutting machine.
  • Use a black marker to color the borders of the white frame opening so it won’t show when the black frame is attached.
  • Attach 1/4″ double stick tape to the outer edges of the black frame.
  • Remove the tape backing, apply black glitter to the tape and smash it down on the tape using a piece of scrap cardstock to help secure the glitter in place. Note:  I purposely left the inner portion of the frame edges free of glitter for a little contrast.
  • Attach the spider webs to the back of the frame using double stick tape.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the black frame and attach over the white frame.
  • Cut the spiders using black cardstock, apply Cosmic glitter glue to the bodies, dip in the black glitter and allow to dry.
  • Attach the spiders to the webs and card base using pieces of mounting tape.
