How to Color Old Truck Die Cuts – VIDEO!

Today I am going to show you how to color old truck die cuts with a VERY fun sneak peek! Part two of four Posts!

The other day we learned how to put the trucks together and today we are learning how to color old truck die cuts. Something that really bums me out is when I see something that is called “DIY” on the web but when you get there it’s too hard to figure out (or they want you to pay to get the instructions!). I’ve created a very cool handmade double sided open frame card and am breaking down how to create into four parts so you can take any different elements you like and recreate the design using what you love the most. Click on my How to Assemble Rubbernecker Old Truck Die Cuts in case you missed the first video post.

As much as you may be ITCHING to see all the details that go into making this open front card, I suggest you do go through this video tutorial and check out my PRO TIPS here because it will make your final project so much more dynamic. Here are a few I share in the video:

– Always use a light touch – you can always add more ink later!
– Ink will mellow and blend out as it dries. As said above – you can always go back in and add more so if you are a first timer or are worried about your coloring, do a little at a time.
– Using gray as a base card stock for your vintage vehicle elements is a great choice because it’s light enough to take the coloring and any that shows through will just add to the vintage feel.
– If you want your colors to pop a little – as I did with the pumpkins – cover the surface in VersaMark and emboss with clear powder.

Go ahead and check out all my tips and see the coloring happen before your eyes here:
