A Die Cut Garden Shed You Might Want To Live In!

This die cut garden shed is so cute, you just might want to make it your own personal getaway spot!

When I worked with Rubbernecker to design the dies to make this die cut garden Shed – and the Winter Add Ons set – I envisioned a true garden shed. You know, a place to stash the mower and rakes and that kind of stuff. When I got these die in my hands, though, I realized there were so many other ways to dress up these cute little buildings! I shared a holiday version here the other day and now I am showing off this cute little backyard haven. She-shed anyone?

The Card Base

  • Use white cardstock to cut the A2 sized card base and fence sections.  Note:  Since the circle lattice die cuts on a negative opening I placed the die on a rectangle piece of cardstock making sure to leave a border on all four sides.
  • Cut the cloud sections using light blue and white cardstock, attach them together using ATG adhesive.
  • Attach the clouds to the top of the cloud base using a strip of mounting tape.
  • Cut the two grass sections using green cardstock and attach one to flat to the card base using ATG adhesive and the second to the card base using a strip of mounting tape.
  • Cut the fence section in two pieces, tuck them behind the grass and attach them on both sides of the card  with strips of mounting tape and leaving open space to attach the house.

Assemble The Die Cut Garden Shed

  • Cut the house sections using Kraft and brown cardstock.
  • Cut pieces of white vellum to fit behind the wonky windows.
  • Apply touches of glossy accents to the back of the windows and attach the vellum.
  • Apply glossy accents to the back of the taller window and attach it to the house.
  • Attach the shorter window to the door using glossy accents and then attach the finished door to the shed using glossy accents..
  • Apply strips of rolled up double stick tape to the main roof section and attach it to the top of the house.  Pro Tip:  Using strips of rolled up double stick tape adds dimension to the roof but is not quite as pronounced as it would be if I used mounting tape.  Sometimes just a little dimension is enough.
  • Attach the shingle roof section to the roof using glossy accents.
  • Finish by assembling the windchimes and attaching it to the roof overhang.
  • Tuck the house in behind the grass and attach it to the card base using pieces of mounting tape.

The Tree, Flowers and Birds

  • Use Kraft cardstock to cut the tree
  • Cut the leaves using green cardstock and attach them to the branches using glossy accents.
  • Use light blue cardstock to cut the tiny flower buds, place them face up on the molding pad and form them using a tiny tipped stylus.
  • Attach the flowers to the leaves using glossy accents.
  • Use dark cardstock to cut the tiny flower buds, place them face up on the molding pad and form them using a tiny tipped stylus.
  • Cut several pieces of the greenery, attach the tiny flowers using glossy accents, tuck the pieces in behind the grass and attach them using glossy accents.
  • Create a small swag of greenery and flowers and attach it to the door using glossy accents.
  • Cut the small birds using dark red cardstock, color the beaks with a black marker and attach them to the scene using small pieces of mounting tape.
