See how to make two dozen easy handmade Christmas cards with a single Paper Pad and one simple die set!
Those of you who know me well might be surprised to see me sharing this idea for easy handmade Christmas cards. While it is a little diversion from my usual style of project, I know there is a time and place for quick and easy and with this Country Christmas 6×6 Paper Pad from Rubbernecker, I was able to make so many cards using just this one collection of patterned card stock and a simple die cut detail.
First, let me share a photo of the project:
I made this card using the Country Christmas 6×6 Paper Pad, the Holly #1 die set and the Christmas Smiles stamp set. So pretty, right? And just festive enough to be special, especially with that pretty overall pattern in the background.
Now, what I want you to see are the other patterns in this Country Christmas Paper Pad and see why you can use this same design and create 2 each of 12 different cards – more if you use the trimmed strips to create additional cards – and have all those cards, handmade by you, for less than $50 (including the card stock for the bases)!!
Here are the other patterns:
Because holly is such an iconic, classic holiday element and because it will coordinate so beautifully with all these designs, you can just lather, rinse and repeat with this same die cut detail element with all the different papers and have that beautiful stack of cards ready to go in no time.
PRO TIP: With some of the designs with less white space, you may want to double or triple up on your holly sprigs to balance out the background with the decorative element. This is as simple as just whipping up a few extra sprigs, adding almost no extra time to the overall card making.
OK – let me share the details so you can get cracking! Are you shocked that this is all in one step?
Fast and Easy Handmade Christmas Cards
- Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base and a 2.25″ x 4.25″ strip.
- Use red cardstock to cut a 2.50″ x 4.25″ strip to layer behind the white.
- Cut a 5.50″ x 4.25″ piece of the Country Christmas paper and attach it to the card base using ATG adhesive.
- Secure the white strip and the stamp in the MISTI, apply Nocturne ink to the stamp and stamp the sentiment. Heat dry.
- Run the sentiment strip through the straight crimper.
- Attach the sentiment strip to the red strip using ATG adhesive.
- Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the sentiment and attach to the card base.
- Use green and red cardstock to cut a Holly section and berries.
- Finish by attach the holly to the sentiment layer using glossy accents.
