You won’t believe how easy it is to make this very fun handmade retro camper greeting card!
When I saw this paper design in the Rubbernecker Off The Grid 6×6 Paper Pad, I knew I had to pull the colors from the paper and make this handmade retro camper greeting card. Retro style, colors and shapes are everywhere and this card is such a great nod to that look while also making something so custom for my friends who love to camp! All those charming details were easily and quickly made with the Retro Camper, Grass, Grass #2 die sets and then the greeting from the Great Outdoors Clear Set. All I needed was some adhesive and I was making a card before I knew it!
Let me show you just how easy this is.
Card Base and Grass
- Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base and teal cardstock to cut a 5.50″ x 4.25″ layer.
- Apply ATG adhesive to the back of the teal layer and attach it to the card base.
- Cut a 5.25″ x 4.00″ piece of the Off The Grid 6×6 Paper Pad and attach it to the card base using ATG adhesive.
- Use green cardstock to cut a 4.25″ x 2.50″ grass section.
- Stamp the sentiment using black ink.
- Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the grass section and attach it to the card base.
The Retro Camper
- Use teal, green, yellow, white and black cardstock to cut the camper parts.
- Apply connect glue to the camper stripes and attach them to the camper. Note: I cut a green additional strip that is just a tiny bit wider than the teal strips to add a little more interest.
- Adhere the door hinges and nob to the door using connect glue. Note: I used a .25″ circle punch to create the window in the door and attach a small piece of white cardstock behind it.
- Apply pieces of mounting tape to the back of the door and attach it to the camper.
- Apply pieces of mounting tape to the back of the windows and awnings and attach to the camper.
- Attach the tire sections together using connect glue and then attach it to the camper.
- Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the camper and attach to the card base.
That’s it! How cute is this? Here are the items I used to put this together today:

I really am getting a kick out of how easily I was able to put together this handmade retro camper greeting card. And I will say that the patterned papers in the Off The Grid Paper Pad have given me tons of other ideas so watch for more “off the grid” projects!
Super cute Kittie!
Thank you, Christine.
